Actress Sharon Stone triumphantly hosted the exceptional “Knights of Charity” Gala at the Chรขteau de la Croix des Gardes in Cannes. This third edition, in aid of several charities, combined glamour, elegance and philanthropy. A magical evening we were privileged to attend…
Grace Kelly and Cary Grant, personalities in the footsteps of legends
A landmark on the Cรดte d’Azur, the Chรขteaux de la Croix des Gardes in Cannes is renowned for having welcomed such celebrities as Grace Kelly and Cary Grant. In July, Sharon Stone, Orlando Bloom, Andrea Bocelli and Robin Thicke took over the premises for an extraordinary philanthropic event.
The gala, produced in partnership with Ulyssia, was orchestrated by philanthropist Milutin Gatsby, who urged “generosity, the key to our future”. “Together, we can make a significant impact”, he insisted.
Original lots auctioned in aid of children
Alongside Sharon Stone, Orlando Bloom helped make the evening unforgettable. The presence of Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, also marked the event with her good humor and generosity. Guests enjoyed exceptional musical performances by Andrea Bocelli and Lisa Stansfield, and sang and danced with Robin Thicke and Martin Solveig.
The auction, conducted by Simon de Pury, was one of the highlights of the evening, with one of Sharon Stone’s paintings, as well as unique experiences with celebrities and luxury items.
The “Knights of charity” Gala has established itself as one of the world’s most important philanthropic events. This third edition in Cannes raised substantial funds for a number of associations dedicated to children’s causes: “Save the Children”, “UNICEF Children”, “Sarah’s Trust for Children”, “ABF for Children”, “DeliverFund.org”, “Hilandar 4 Humanity, Children in Need”, “Gisele Bรผndchen Foundation”.
“Knights of Charity Humanity Award”
The “Knights of Charity Humanity Award” was presented to Andrea Bocelli for his outstanding philanthropic contributions and 30 years of remarkable career.
The generous support of Ulyssia, the world’s most exclusive residential yacht community, was crucial to the gala’s success. Frank Binder, founder and president of Ulyssia, explains that this support reflects his “commitment to making a positive impact on the world”.
