Emma Stone, 35, wins the Golden Globe for Best Actress for her role as Bella in “Poor Things”. Having become an indispensable figure in American cinema, the actress shines in a variety of genres such as the comedy “Easy Girl,” the tragedy “Magic in The Moonlight,” and the musical comedy “La La Land” alongside Ryan Gosling.

First nomination as Best Actress at 26

She is the muse of many directors: Woody Allen, Damien Chazelle, Craig Gillespie… At just 26, she received her first Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the eccentric comedy “Birdman” by Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu. But it was in 2010 that the actress, originally from Arizona, began her career.

At 15, young Emma Stone moved to California with her family to fulfill her dream of becoming an actress. She attended auditions while taking evening classes. After some roles as an extra, notably in the series “Medium,” Emma Stone landed her first role in the series “Drive” as Violet Trimble.

Revealed to the world by “The Amazing Spider-Man”

Projects lined up for her in 2008 and 2009, where she started appearing on the big screen. “The Rocker,” “Super Blonde,” or “Zombieland,” Emma Stone took on roles until she secured the role of Gwen Stacy, Peter Parker’s girlfriend in “The Amazing Spider-Man” released in 2012: a success that gave her international visibility.

In January 2017, she won the Best Actress Golden Globe for her role in “La La Land,” directed by Damien Chazelle, alongside Ryan Gosling. A year filled with awards for the young woman, who also won the Best Actress trophy at the Bafta Awards in England and the Oscar for Best Actress in February 2017. In 45 years, this Oscar had never been won by a woman.

Emma Stone, on all fronts

She and Ryan Gosling had previously worked together in the comedy “Crazy Stupid Love” and the action film “Gangster Squad.” “I’m very comfortable with Ryan Gosling,” she said about her faithful on-screen partner. In her personal life, she shares her life with American director Dave McCary, whom she married in 2020, and they have a daughter named Louise.

Their union was celebrated before the release of “Cruella” in June 2021, Disney’s live-action film that traces the life of the famous villain from “101 Dalmatians.” Emma Stone secured the role and achieved resounding success at the box office. The actress also announced that a sequel is in the works.

Nominated for Best Actress at the Golden Globes ceremony

More recently, she captivates critics by portraying Bella Baxter in Yorgos Lanthimos’s “Poor Things”. “Bella is my favorite character,” she confided to France Inter during an interview with Lรฉa Salamรฉ. Emma Stone is once again honored this year at the Golden Globe Awards for her performance in this film, already awarded the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival.
